THE MAGICAL FOREST

THIS IS THE TALE OF A FOREST GRAND, OF ELVES AND FAIRIES AND MAGIC LANDS,AND, TOO, THE STORY OF AN EVIL KING, WHO DID NOT BELIEVE IN THESE KINDS OF THINGS.

The Magical Forest is an easy-to-read and exciting illustrated epic-poem about forests and magic and some very brave children. It’s also about the beauty and power of nature, and about redemption.

The setting is a faraway land where there is a very special forest that the local children know is magical, the townsfolk are pretty sure is magical, and the king of the land is sure is TOTALLY NOT magical, or special in any way. This king, a truly unpleasant fellow, decides to build a road of gold right through the heart of the forest in a show of power and to prove there is nothing magical about it. Just as the road breeches the trees, however, his plans go awry as the children from the town, and the forest itself, make a dramatic last stand. The King is then “forced to see what cannot be by a group of children who DID believe.”

But will he find redemption in the truth?

The target age group for The Magical Forest is children 0-8 (and the young at heart!), who I know will love the story and characters and colorful paintings–paintings which also contain lots of interesting little details for them to search out. And poetry has been shown to help in language development, creative language skills, creativity, writing skills, self-expression, and in the development of natural rhythms–so it’s truly a win-win!

The Magical Forest is an environmentally friendly book in every way! It is printed with FSC Certified paper, safe inks, and a recycled-paper hard cover, and I buy carbon offsets to offset the production and shipping footprints. In addition, I donate 10% of all revenue to reputable environmental groups whose main goal is to protect forests around the world.
